The Xbox 360 Controller Will Get an Official Modern Makeover

Even today, the Xbox 360 controller is still fondly remembered by many. What would you think about a controller that accurately imitates its best qualities and works with modern Xbox consoles and PCs? That’s exactly what Hyperkin is working on.

The Hyperkin Xenon is an officially licensed imitation of the Xbox 360 controller that’s made to work with modern Xbox consoles, such as the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X, as well as with modern PCs running Windows 10 and Windows 11. The controller’s whole shtick is that it looks and feels just like an Xbox controller from 2005, except today.

It has a few buttons changed around to match the modern functionality of Xbox controllers, including a Share button, as well as the addition of a headphone jack and a USB-C port. But the controller itself should be pretty much identical to the Xbox 360 controller. It has the same silhouette and the same overall button configuration, and even the same aesthetics. The only catch is that you’ll need to use it wired, but other than that, this is a perfect controller for anyone looking for a wild flashback.

If you want to get it, it’ll be available early next year, but there’s no pre-order or store page yet. In the meantime, there are plenty of other options for PC gaming controllers, many of which also work with Xbox game consoles.
